SAP EWM: Rounding Warehouse Task Quantity – SCM Cloudbook
Business scenario
The warehouse operator performs picking of one piano at a time using his forklift resource.
Challenge
Due to the fork lift capacity constraint, even if the delivery contains multiple pianos, the system should create one warehouse task per unit in one warehouse order.
Approach
Apply rounding of warehouse task quantity at the warehouse process type level.
Pre-requisites
Correct base unit of measure maintained in the master data. In this case, EA-Each will be used.
Settings
1. Maintain the quantity classification
2. Maintain unit of measurement (TX:CUNI)
3. Define unit of measurement attributes
Basic UoM need not be selected since stocks are not necessarily stored at this level.
4. Storage type settings
- Assign the ‘quantity classifier to ‘EA’
- Set ‘round while units to no rounding’ (since this to be done at WPT level)
5. Warehouse process type settings
- For the outbound warehouse process type set ‘round whole units to round down WT quantity to single unit’
6. Master data settings
- Set ‘quantity classification to 1 Each’ at the EWM product master level
Testing
The warehouse request contains 2 EA to be picked. Once the warehouse task creation is simulated the system creates one warehouse task for 1 EA Piano.
